I once moved away–across the country, actually–and now I can’t seem to bring myself to ever leave again. I probably think about this more than most people, and I get quite nostalgic for things that are still quite near to me. I wanted to commemorate my home state on Etsy, but I really don’t feel like sitting around and waiting for the treasuries to open. Thank heavens for the poster sketch tool! May I present to you, Minnesota in Art:
If Adam Turman would list things on Etsy, he’d be in this “freasury” (that’s faux treasury…). But as it stands, you have yer studiolyon, XOHandworks, ARTitecture (x2), pumpkingirl, FriendlyMade (x2), westernartglass, NicsPics (x2), barefootphotos (x2), signedmjh, ELBfoto (x2), and kaelacusack.
There are two reasons there are so many duplicates up there. First, it’s not a real treasury–I’m not concerned with the chance I might get on the front page, and I can do whatever the heck I want! Second, there’s just not nearly enough Minnesota iconography on Etsy! So, Minnesota artists, let’s get to it! It doesn’t have to be a photo or a drawing of a landmark–just whatever reminds you of Minnesota!
Who’s with me?
You could say I’m a little pancake obsessed right now. I couldn’t sleep last night thinking about the delicious pancakes in my fridge. And when I noticed the treasuries would be opening up around 11:30, I knew I had to snag one.
So I did! : D
Clicking on the picture will bring you to the treasury–this link is only valid until 6:47pm (central time, I believe) Friday, and then the treasury will expire.
I thought it would be nice to share all the alternates with everyone. Contributing to this treasury are the following:
MermaidSparkle, CreativeSundries, elladean, PookieTookie (alt), sweetconfections (twice! Oops! the treasury has been updated since this screenshop was taken), Bittersweets, WoodcraftsandCandles, Cerr, leeluandpiggy, danzdzynes, woolhandcrafts, PhenixPottery, robinsjewelrybox, glutenada, shellieartist.
A few months ago, Etsy once again changed their limits on treasuries. Now whenever I go to the treasury application, there are no fewer than 20 pages to sift through. I just don’t have time anymore to look through 415 treasuries until I find the one that strikes my fancy.
I will try to bring back the artist feature segments, but that too requires work. I will see, however, what I can do about it.
I don’t drink tea. I want so badly to drink tea, but tea makes me gag. If someone out there could find me a tea that doesn’t make me break out in goosebumps, I will be forever grateful . Why don’t I just give up on tea, you ask? There are a lot of reasons: For starters, tea is supposedly good for you. Secondly, I’m always cold, so it would be nice to have a warm drink that isn’t full of calories (I love hot cocoa, but hate coffee even more than tea). Thirdly, well, I can’t put the third into words.
I think it might have a lot to do with the fact that I grew up surrounded (literally) by teapots, but I love tea related imagery. Teapots are so classic, teabags are almost cute, and tea leaves are beautiful. And cups and saucers. Who doesn’t want to use a cup and saucer? Neanderthals, that’s who.
StoneyMistDesign has been transplanted from the wonderful world of Minnesota to most everyone’s dream: Hawaii. As I look at the “chance of snow” in the weather forecast, I find it hard to understand why she’d be lusting after Minnesota, but one look at this treasury and it’s pretty easy to figure out.
Featured artists include: loosewirestudio, DangerKittyDesigns, eyecandycreative, pinksparrow, kellybot, westernartglass, unblinkingeye, jennalou06, ericka, glorioushats, XOhandworks, interiorglassdesigns
This treasury, titled “Move Over Bacon,” is a little on the selfish side. My darling sister used to say to me “Move over bacon, now there’s something leaner,” when she wanted me to move over. Which would be pretty hilarious if I hadn’t been a fat kid and if she hadn’t been rail thin. Oh well. I try not to hold that against her, and she’s still my best friend.
That said, this treasury by SarahsSky still makes me smile by the pure fact that I love food art. It should not come as a surprise, since I was a fat kid, after all. These veggies are too cute to eat, though.

No, and trust me, if it is, that weekend totally sucked. But really, I found this treasury, and I just had to share it with the world. It seemed almost a sin to keep it to myself, so to speak. It’s called Chrysanthemum Sky, and it’s curated by LunaLove.
If you like someone’s work, you can reach their Etsy shop by going to http://%5Busername%5D.etsy.com.
Since Mondays are the day I stay at home, I have a bit more time to troll treasuries to find the gems. My first ever featured treasury is called Cherry Pop and was curated by Lava Jewelry.

I think it’s time to finish off the can of Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper that’s sitting in front of me! 🙂
